Information on Personal Data Processing
By means of this document, we, as the controller of personal data – the company ŠKODA AUTO a.s., tř. Václava Klementa 869, Mladá Boleslav II, 293 01 Mladá Boleslav, Identification No.: 00177041, registered in the Commercial Register kept by the Municipal Court in Prague under Section B, File No. 332 (hereinafter referred to as “ŠKODA AUTO“) – provide information on the personal data processing and your rights related thereto.
The processing of personal data is carried out as part of the following activity:
Single sign-on into on-line environment of ŠKODA AUTO
Purpose of the processing:
Providing single identity within ŠKODA AUTO on-line environment.
Description of the purpose of processing:
We process your personal data in order to provide you with the highest comfort when using our particular services, applications, internet web pages and their functions including ŠKODA AUTO portals. Thus, we provide you with single identity for single sign-on and use of our services.
Currently, we use the personal data database after you sign in:
- at ŠKODA OneApp,
- at MyŠKODA App,
- at ŠKODA Connect App,
- on MyŠKODA Portal, and
- during a visit of our internet pages in sections car configurator and e-shop.
In the future, we may extend the use of single identity, so-called “ŠKODA ID”, also in connection with other applications, website, services or other touchpoints. Your personal data are used in order to pair your data into single identity according to particular personal data and then used to provide you with the above services.
Legal basis of the processing:
Categories of the personal data we process:
Identification data, contact details, descriptive data, information on mutual communication and interaction and product technical data.
Processing and archiving period:
Your data is stored for the duration of your usage of single identity until you delete your ŠKODA ID account. You may view, amend or delete your personal data entered in the user account using the "Personal Data" and "Contact" menu options. You also have the option of deleting your entire user account via the "Account settings" menu on the ŠKODA ID Portal. Your data will be deleted unless we are legally obliged to store or retain it for a longer period (e.g. due to statutory retention periods). If the data is still required for the settlement of outstanding transactions, deletion will take place only once these transactions have been settled.
In case of your inactivity, you will be notified no later than 4 years and 6 months after your last activity that your account may be set as deactivated and archived. Unless you actively react to the notification, the account will be deactivated and archived for the period of 11 years, after which all your personal data will be deleted.
Categories of data processors or recipients to whom we may provide the personal data:
If you use the ŠKODA ID in connection with a third party service, the data will only be passed on if this is absolutely necessary for the use of the third party's service and the processing is therefore necessary to fulfil a contract between you and the third party, or is required to carry out pre-contractual measures, or is required for legal reasons. Within the above-mentioned categories of recipients, your personal data will also be processed by the entity hosting the service, namely Volkswagen AG, Berliner Ring 2, 38440 Wolfsburg, Germany, registered in the Register of Companies of the Brunswick District Court under No. HRB 100484, and Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Business ID: 352 2789 0057, 38 Avenue John F. Kennedy, L-1855, Luxembourg. Upon request, your personal data may be provided to public authorities, in particular to courts, the Police of the Czech Republic and other law enforcement agencies to the necessary extent and within the boundaries of law.
Source of the personal data:
We receive the personal data directly from you.
Transfers of personal data to third countries or international organisations: As part of the above-mentioned processing, your personal data will not be transferred to any third country or international organisation.
Automated decision-making based on the personal data:
During the processing of your personal data, no decision-making based solely on automated processing, including profiling, occurs.
Personal data may be archived in the public interest and used for scientific, historical or statistical research purposes. In well-founded cases, personal data can also be the subject of processing for the purposes of legal matters resolution, including the performance of obligations towards public administration bodies and monitoring and ongoing evaluation of legal risks.
What are your rights?
As a part of the personal data processing, you have the following rights:
- Access to personal data processed.
- Revocation of the consent to the personal data processing.
- Correction of incorrect, inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
- Erasure of personal data in the case of purpose legal basis termination or in the case of unlawful processing.
- Restriction of the data processing.
- Extract of your personal data in machine-readable format for yourself or another controller.
- Object to the data processing, if you believe that the processing of personal data is unlawful.
- Not to be the subject of automated decision-making.

In connection with the exercise of your rights, ŠKODA AUTO may charge a reasonable fee taking into account the administrative costs for the processing when requests from a data subject are apparently unfounded or excessive.

Lodging a complaint
In case you disagree with the way ŠKODA AUTO processes or handles your personal data, you can lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Officer (DPO) of ŠKODA AUTO or a supervisory authority.
