How do we use your personal data?
SEAT, S.A. (hereinafter, "SEAT") will process the personal data by you provided, as well as other personal data that SEAT may have access through the use of SEAT ID & CUPRA ID, for the following main purposes:
- To create a new SEAT ID & CUPRA ID account that allows you to access various SEAT applications connected with SEAT ID & CUPRA ID, without the need to provide your personal data again in order to register.
- To sign into a number of services with a single user identification, as long as these services include SEAT ID & CUPRA ID as a sign-in option.
- To store further data in your SEAT ID & CUPRA ID (e.g. addresses). Storing this data enables other services to access the data without you having to enter it again. The personal data linked to your SEAT ID & CUPRA ID user account, will only be associated to those applications of which you are a user.
- To allow you to manage the processing of your personal data in the various SEAT applications to which you access through your user account, allowing you to consult, erase, and, if necessary, modify your data or consents that you have granted for the treatment of your personal information.
- Ensure the proper functioning of SEAT ID & CUPRA ID and its functionalities.
The processing of your personal data for the purposes abovementioned is necessary for the provision of the Service.
What categories of data do we process?
In the context of the functionalities offered by SEAT ID & CUPRA ID, and subject to the purposes previously indicated, SEAT will process identification data provided by you, such as name and surname, telephone number, email, postal address, profile image, etc. It should be noted that the email address is the only data required for the use of SEAT ID & CUPRA ID.
Likewise, some of the personal data collected by applications connected to SEAT ID & CUPRA ID may be stored and processed in SEAT ID & CUPRA ID.
How long do we retain your data?
SEAT will retain your personal data only for the provision of SEAT ID & CUPRA ID or until you ask for their erasure, as well as during the time necessary to comply with the legal obligations needed in each case.
What is the lawful basis for processing your personal data?
The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is the provision of SEAT ID & CUPRA ID user account service under the Terms of Use, which you must accept and consent to.
What other recipients will the data be disclosed to?
SEAT will disclose your personal data to third parties when such disclosure is laid down by law.
SEAT will disclose your personal data to the following recipients:
- SEAT purchases the development and operation of computer software to Volkswagen AG, located in Germany and belonging to the same business group, which will act as SEAT data processor.
SEAT ID & CUPRA ID settings
SEAT ID & CUPRA ID settings can be accessed either from user settings in services linked with SEAT ID & CUPRA ID or via the following link: https://seatid.vwgroup.io/ & https://cupraid.vwgroup.io/. Users have to be signed in with their SEAT ID & CUPRA ID in order to access the settings menu.
Through the privacy settings, you can consult, edit or delete the personal data linked to your user account via the "Personal Data" section or via the "Contact" section.
If you no longer wish to link a service to the existing user account, you can manage it though the "Connected Apps" section in the privacy settings. If you want to remove a paid service from your user account, you can only do so by creating a new user account. If an application or service is no longer linked to the user account, the personal data required for the provision of the service will be deleted, in accordance with what is indicated in "How long do we retain your data?" section, as long as they are not necessary for the provision of other services and as well as during the time necessary to comply with the legal obligations that correspond in each case. In the latter case, the data will be deleted as soon as these reasons become invalid (for example, when they are no longer necessary for the fulfillment of a legal obligation).
The user account can also be deleted via the "Account Settings" section. If you wish to do this, all your personal data will be erased, in accordance with what is indicated in How long do we retain your data? section, as long as they are not necessary for the provision of other services and as well as during the time necessary to comply with the legal obligations that correspond in each case. In the latter, the data will be deleted as soon as these reasons become invalid. Services which require you to sign into a user account can then only be used if you create a new user account.
Furthermore, you can view the Privacy Policy as well as the Terms of Use of the user account at any time.
How do we protect your personal data?
SEAT implements technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data, in order to protect them from manipulation loss, destruction or unauthorized access by third parties. Our security measures are updated and are continually reviewed to improve them according to the new technological advances.
What are your rights as affected individual?
You have the right to obtain confirmation from SEAT whether your personal data are being processed or not.
You have the request for the erasure of your personal data when, among legal grounds, your personal data will no longer be necessary for which they were collected.
You have the right to access to your personal data and obtain a copy of such data, as well as to request the modification of inaccurate data or, when appropriate, request their erasure when, among other reasons, the data is no longer necessary for the purposes it was collected.
Under certain circumstances, you have the right to obtain from SEAT restriction of the personal data being processed by SEAT. In such case, SEAT will only process your personal data for the establishment, exercise or defense of legal claims.
Likewise, you can exercise your right to data portability, as well as withdraw any given consent.
You have the right to file a claim before the Data Protection National Authorities, especially when you have not obtained an adequate response to the exercise of your rights.
In addition to the management of your personal data that can be done though the SEAT ID & CUPRA ID settings, you can exercise the aforementioned rights by sending an email to customercare@seat.es, attaching a copy of your ID or another document that proves your identity, and clearly indicating the right you want to exercise.
